This comes as the second series in our NFT Creator Insight collection, aiming to introduce artists from the HoDooi.com platform, this week featuring the highly talented – Bolli Blas.
Here is a small insight into Bolli Blas thoughts on the NFT space, his inspirations and what he thinks of HoDooi.com.
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your background?
My name is Bolli Blas and I am a Polish-born, British contemporary artist. My paintings are best known for the wide-eyed characters known as ‘Bollis’ which are widely considered to be metaphorical mirrors of modern society, looking directly back at the viewer. My work predominantly reflects my childhood art and frequently makes use of bright, vibrant colours in oils. I draw inspiration from a range of artists: from Munch to Modigliani and from Banksy to Basquiat.
I’m currently working on exhibitions in New York and outside the US in European museums and galleries. Some of my upcoming and recent solo and group exhibitions include shows in Van Der Plas Gallery in Manhattan, New York and Dundas Street Gallery in Edinburgh, UK. My art features on established fine art platforms such as Artsy, Kooness, Artsper and Artland where I am represented by multiple art galleries. I have also been included in multiple established publications like Entrepreneur, LA Weekly, Flaunt, Vegas Magazine, Female First, Live Mint and many others.
When did you start creating NFTs?
I started creating my first NFTs at the beginning of 2022 as I wanted to expand my art career into digital art.
What’s the process behind creating your NFTs?
I create my pixelated Bolli NFTs using Photoshop. My NFTs very much resemble my oil on canvas art as they are vibrant and wide-eyed.
Where did you get your inspiration for your latest collection?
My collection has been inspired by the oil on canvas versions of the art I have been creating over the past years of my art career.
Have any other NFT artists inspired some of your collections? If so whose?
I have been inspired by pixelated NFTs I saw online, and I was really keen to introduce this concept to my digital art.
What made you drop your collection on HoDooi V2?
A friend of mine already displays his art on your platform and he recommended it.
How are you finding the updated platform?
I really like being part of the platform, I find it easy to use too and the team are great.
Have you got anything else on the cards regarding your next collection? Could you maybe give us some more information on that.
I’m still working on my first collection as I’m keen for it to have more NFTs, I haven’t thought about the second one yet.
